Jazz Cellar 11 is stepping into international waters — and not just anywhere, but into one of the world’s great jazz capitals, London, often called the New York of Europe. In collaboration with the legendary London jazz club 606, which celebrates 50 years anniversary this year, we will introduce the London jazz scene to our audience while presenting Lithuanian jazz musicians to London listeners.

In March, we’ve sent Lithuanian jazz visionary and one of the most influential figures in the country’s jazz scene, pianist Dmitrij Golovanov, to perform in London. In November we invite you to Jazz Cellar 11 to experience the return visit.

Joining our musicians D. Golovanov, A. Kryshtal, and A. Baronas will be London-based saxophonist and flautist Steve Rubie. Steve is the founder of the group Samara, known for performing jazz and Brazilian music, and an important figure on the London jazz scene. He is also the owner of the renowned 606 Club. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with musicians such as Julian Joseph, Bheki Mseleku, and Liane Carroll. In 2019, he received the Musician’s Company Award for Lifetime Achievement in recognition of his contribution to jazz.

For regular visitors of Jazz Cellar 11, Dmitrij Golovanov needs little introduction. He is widely regarded as one of Lithuania’s finest jazz pianists and one of the most prominent and active figures in the Lithuanian jazz community. Alongside his work as a performer and composer, Dmitrij is also a dedicated educator and the President of the Lithuanian Jazz Federation. He tirelessly combines his artistic career with efforts to nurture the Lithuanian jazz scene and promote Lithuanian jazz internationally.

Doors apen at 7 p.m.
