We continue the Future Now series and present two rising voices of the young Lithuanian scene – Saulė Komžaitė and Ugnė Marija.

What is Future Now? It is a platform for young, still emerging artists to reveal their creative identity, and for listeners – a chance to discover new names, experience the intimacy of the club atmosphere, and enjoy high-quality live music at an accessible price.

Who is Saulė Komžaitė? Saulė is a Vilnius-born singer and songwriter – a fresh voice in the jazz and R&B scene. Inspired by artists such as Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Angie Stone, and Tyler, The Creator, she blends soulfulness with contemporary expression. From an early age, she has actively participated in music competitions, festivals, and creative projects.

Together with the group “Cold Trane Spirit Ensemble,” she performed abroad, recorded music, and created artistic performances (2017–2019). She has also been involved in the “Muzikos Talentų Lyga” project both as a participant and volunteer. On March 8, 2024, she made her solo debut at Jazz Cellar 11, marking a new chapter in her artistic journey. The same year, she contributed backing vocals to the album “Mexėny,” further expanding her professional collaborations.

Saulė’s music intertwines lightness, emotional depth, and a strong artistic identity – a voice that invites you to pause, listen, and truly feel.

And who is Ugnė Marija? A young performer and a student of the Popular Music program at VIKO, Ugnė stands out for her sensitive musical expression, stage charisma, and subtle emotional delivery. Music entered her life in childhood and naturally became her form of self-expression.

She participated in the “Tamsta Sing” competition, testing herself on a strong stage among talented performers. She was also actively involved in the “International Week” project, where she took on the role of event host at Tamsta. Beyond performing, she engages deeply in creative processes – contributing to fellow students’ recordings, collaborating with other musicians, and developing joint projects. She continuously expands her knowledge of arrangement, shaping her own distinctive musical language.

In her artistry, Ugnė seeks an authentic and personal sound. She enjoys experimenting and blending styles, yet sincerity remains at the core of her music. For her, each song is not simply performed – it is lived.
