(modern jazz / creative)
This year, the entire world is celebrating an important date for the jazz community — the 100th anniversary ofJohn Coltrane, one of the most influential figures in the history of jazz. Although his creative life was relatively short and he passed away at a young age, his impact on jazz music and its development was immense. His innovations in musical language and harmony, his contribution to the evolution of styles, and his role in shaping the spirituality, depth, and seriousness of jazz are invaluable in the history of music. His saxophone sound and performance technique set a new standard and raised the bar for the vast majority of contemporary jazz saxophonists worldwide. In the era of modern jazz, there is not a single saxophonist who has not been directly or indirectly influenced by Coltrane, and his musical discoveries have also impacted jazz musicians playing other instruments.
Of course, we simply must mark this anniversary as well. And who could do it better than a quartet that has created and performed more than 10 sold-out concerts dedicated to John Coltrane?
These are masters of Lithuanian jazz who need no introduction. Their level of craftsmanship, their understanding and feeling of music, their spiritual depth, and their intellect allow them to confidently and competently recreate and interpret the music of this jazz genius.
