Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet creates music within the modern jazz idiom with a sophisticated melodic and harmonic approach, great musical interplay and a unique playfulness that brings new life to the genre. Rõivassepp’s music invites the listener to the
realms of sincere joy, tranquil melancholy and hidden sorrow through captivating melodies and honest storytelling both in English and Estonian.
In June 2018 Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet released their debut album Dance of Sounds that has received positive response from the critics and was nominated for “The New Danish Jazz Artist” at the Danish Music Awards 2018. This distinctive contemporary jazz record combines Rõivassepp’s clear and humble vocals with the quartet’s playful collaboration, highlighting the artistry of each of the musicians. Dance of Sounds is the quartet’s first large-scale project and suggests that there is definitely more to come from
these four talented jazz musicians.
