"Downbeat" muzikos žurnalas ir džiazo žurnalistų asociacija išrinko Jeremy Pelt kaip kylančią džiazo trimito žvaigždę penkis metus iš eilės. Šis muzikantas yra tikrai vertas šio pripažinimo. Grojęs su tokiom džiazo legendom kaip Cedar Walton, Frank Foster, Nancy Wilson ir Ravi Coltrane, trimitininkas pasižymi ir kaip savo grupių vedlys išleidžiantis retus bet didelio pripažinimo ir susidomėjimo sulaukiančius albumus. Trumpeter and composer Jeremy Pelt is a veteran bandleader who releases top-notch albums with rare frequency. Pelt works
expertly within multiple jazz traditions, but he also subtly experiments with the boundaries and nuances of those traditions from record to record, further developing his distinctive and gradually expanding musical vision. The group plays a broad range of swinging, soulful jazz imbued with Afro-Latin influences, and this album release show is an easy recommendation for anyone
into both classic and contemporary jazz.
Jeremy Pelt seems to have played for everyone: Bobby Blue Bland, Frank Foster, Cedar Walton, Nancy Wilson, The Skatalites,
and Ravi Coltrane are only a short list of the variety of artists and styles that his musical abilities accommodate. In addition to leading his own acclaimed quintet and recording over a dozen albums, Pelt has been especially active with the Lewis Nash Septet, the Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band, and the large ensembles of the Mingus Big Band, the Roy Hargrove Big Band and the Village Vanguard Orchestra. For five years straight he has been voted a Rising Star on trumpet by Downbeat and the Jazz Journalist Association. JazzTimes remarks, “Pelt is a technical marvel. He executes intricate solos with ease, plays gorgeous ballads in a tasteful manner, and never lacks for flair or sensitivity.”
